VISIT NYC is a collection of immersive short form videos in 180° stereoscopic views. Our goal is to capture the city’s gritty, twinkling approachability: in the soaring heights, amid the moody and cacophonous background noises, under ambient lighting, and in the unfiltered frolicking of passersby. Our shots are impromptu and we only had access to many places for seconds to brief minutes. To enhance the “transportative” quality of the app within its navigation, each NYC setting offers a portal for the user to witness the possible three dimensional, immersive effects that the video promises. A dropped pin on the Apple map shows the user where in NYC they are. Armchair travelers and enthusiasts of the city’s legendary kinetic energy will find authenticity in this unique NYC experience. And some unexpected warm feelings too. VISIT NYC is an immersive homage to NYC, shot from a nostalgia-bearing lens. Our hope is that these are experiences Apple Vision Pro users will return to.
